Privacy Policy

MeQURE (“MeQURE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a healthcare discovery and scheduling platform, including the MeQURE website, mobile experience, and related tools that connect patients with doctors, specialists, clinics, and urgent care providers, and let patients check insurance participation, book appointments, and manage follow-ups (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with the Services. For purposes of this Policy:

  • “User” means someone who creates a MeQURE account.
  • “Visitor” means someone who browses or interacts with the Services without a MeQURE account. Certain features, including booking an appointment, require a MeQURE account.
  • “Personal Data” means information that identifies, relates to, or is reasonably capable of being associated with a particular individual.
  • For information about how we handle data belonging to doctors, dental practices, and other providers who list on MeQURE, see our separate Provider Data Policy.

This Policy is incorporated into, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Use.

1. HIPAA and Protected Health Information

MeQURE is primarily a directory and scheduling tool, not a treating provider, insurer, or health plan. In some cases, however, a provider practice that uses MeQURE’s scheduling tools may ask us to handle certain patient information on its behalf as part of running its calendar or confirming visits. When we hold information in that limited, administrative capacity for a practice that is itself a HIPAA “Covered Entity,” that information may qualify as Protected Health Information (“PHI”) and is governed by HIPAA rather than by this Policy. Your provider’s own Notice of Privacy Practices explains how they use and disclose your PHI.

Outside of that narrow administrative role, information you give directly to MeQURE — for example, when you create an account, search for a provider, request an appointment, leave a review, or contact our support team — is Personal Data governed by this Policy, not PHI.

2. Categories of Personal Data We Collect

3. Sources of Personal Data

  • Directly from you — when you register, search, book, message support, or post a review.
  • Automatically — through cookies and similar technology as you browse or use the app (see Section 7).
  • From providers and practices — practices using MeQURE’s scheduling tools may share limited information back to us, such as confirming an appointment was completed or updating open availability.
  • From identity or login partners — if you choose to sign in using a third-party account (e.g., Google), we receive the basic profile information that service shares with us.
  • From insurance and licensing directories — used to verify or supplement the accuracy of provider network and credential information shown on the Services.

  • Appointment and insurance-selection history is retained to maintain your dashboard and support continuity of care coordination, and for a reasonable period after account closure for recordkeeping.
  • Device and usage logs are retained only as long as needed for security monitoring and troubleshooting.

We may retain de-identified or aggregated data that can no longer be linked back to you, without time limit, to analyze usage trends.

We do not sell health conditions, insurance member IDs, or appointment reasons to third parties for their own marketing use. Some sharing of device and browsing data with advertising partners described above may meet the technical definition of a “sale” or “share” under certain state privacy laws — see Section 11 for your opt-out rights.

7. Cookies, Tracking Tools, and Advertising

We and our vendors use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate the Services and understand how they’re used:

  • Essential cookies keep you logged in and let you complete a booking.
  • Preference cookies remember settings like a saved location, specialty, or insurance plan.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand aggregate usage patterns, such as which pages are viewed and how searches perform, so we can improve the Services.
  • Advertising cookies, where enabled, help us and select partners measure and deliver ads for MeQURE on other sites; these do not carry health or insurance details.

Your choices: You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and where available, through an in-app privacy preference center. Blocking essential cookies may prevent core features like staying logged in or completing a booking from working properly. Where required by law, we honor recognized opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).

8. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Data, including encryption in transit, access controls that limit who can view account and booking data, and routine security monitoring. No system can guarantee complete security, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for individuals 18 and older, or for use by a parent or legal guardian booking care on behalf of a minor dependent. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data directly from children under 13 through self-service account creation. If we learn a child has provided us information without appropriate parental involvement, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe this has occurred, contact us using the details in Section 14.

10. Managing Your Account and Preferences

  • Update your information anytime from your account dashboard.
  • Close your account by emailing us at the address in Section 14; we will process closure requests promptly, subject to information we’re required to retain by law.
  • Manage communications using the unsubscribe link in marketing emails. You will continue to receive essential service messages, such as appointment confirmations, even if you opt out of marketing.
  • Report unauthorized use of your account to us immediately.

11. U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you live in a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or others), you may have some or all of the following rights, subject to legal exceptions:

  • Right to know / access — request the categories or specific pieces of Personal Data we’ve collected, the sources, and the purposes for collection and disclosure.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of Personal Data we hold about you.
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate Personal Data.
  • Right to opt out — of the sharing of your data for cross-context behavioral advertising, described in Section 7.
  • Right against discrimination — we will not deny you the Services or charge you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
  • Right to appeal — if we decline a request, most state laws let you appeal that decision.

Washington and certain other states provide additional protections for “consumer health data.” Where those laws apply, we limit use of health-related information you provide to operating the Services you’ve requested and do not use it for advertising.

12. How to Exercise Your Rights

To submit an access, deletion, or correction request, or to opt out of data sharing for advertising, contact us using the details in Section 14 or through your account’s privacy settings, where available. To protect your data, we will need to verify your identity before completing most requests (verification is not required for opt-out requests). You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to proof of authorization. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law and will not charge a fee for a valid request.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. We will update the Effective Date above, and where a change is material, we will provide additional notice — for example, an email or an in-app banner — before the change takes effect.
